Does adding the following key to the registry by mistake cause any issues?

I was trying to restore the full right context menu in Windows 11 with the following command I observed on a website article.reg add HKCU\Software\Classes\{86ca1aa0-34aa-4e8b-a509-50c905bae2a2}\InprocServer32 /ve /d "" /fThe command did not work and I saw another website that showed how to add the key with Registry Editor and I noticed a difference. I observed a subkey CLSID after Classes. Does adding the key to just classes cause any issues? I did delete the key and subkey after I tried the command and it did not work.

    :)

    ATITool registry key

    Hello,

During ATITool installation, the following registry key was added to my registry:

    "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{85b5ddd0-e090-4b15-bdf2-a443a3ca0b66}"

After uninstalling the program, this key remained. I tried to delete it through the registry editor but it returned the following error:

"Cannot delete {85b5ddd0-e090-4b15-bdf2-a443a3ca0b66}: Error while deleting key."

I'm running Vista Home Premium 32-bit by the way. I also tried to change permissions for the key and deleting in safe mode, but neither of those worked either.

Any ideas on how i can remove this key? Any help is appreciated, thanks.

  3. Error Removing Registry Key?

If it is not causing you any issues i would suggest for you you not alter the Registry.

Altering the Registry in any form of way may cause your Operating System to stop responding and or functioning.
