Windows 10: Does anybody know how to set windows 10 to turn off instead of going to sleep.

I don't use my personal laptop everyday and I usually forget to turn it off. So the next time I decide to use it or I need it the battery is drained regardless sleep or hibrenation as sometimes may pass a week before I use it again. Because of that I am looking for something like after 1 hour idle go to sleep in power settings but I need it instead after that 1 hour to turn off. I know everything is to make the laptop start faster but It can't start if the battery is depleted.

tablet going to sleep instead of turning off screen

i have spent hours today trying to solve this including on chat and call with Windows.

i have a program which should run 24/7, it connects to Internet every 45 seconds
it goes to sleep after screen shuts down
i have teamviewer host installed, it logs out after screen shuts down

power settings are set to turn off cup never
i did not realise that power button was set to sleep, it is now set to do nothing

the only difference now is, team viewer shows logged in at all times, but when I connect I get a black screen then a connection error.
my other app is still going to sleep (it has a counter that stops incrementing)

i downloaded a stopwatch app, hoping it would keep things active. Stop watch keeps active but no help to other apps.

Coffee seems not to work in win 8.1, so presumably not 10.

Any suggestions?

 

Windows 10 shuts down instead of going to sleep

Hi,

I am using Dell XPS 13. All of a sudden my windows 10(64 bit) is behaving annoyingly. Whenever, there is a lack of activity or I press the power button, or I close the lid, it shuts down instead of going to sleep.

Things I tried to solve this issue

- Went over the power settings. All of them are still at "Sleep". Reset to default but still no luck

- Ran the power troubleshooter and it does not show any issue

Any suggestion will be appreciated.
