Windows 10: Does anyone else have a problem getting to the system tray?

Windows notifications cover up the system tray. I'll be trying to resurrect the Discord or Microsoft Teams chat-clients from the system tray but each new notification of a message blocks me from doing so. Super frustrating.

Lost clock and calendar from system tray after update on September 25, 2016

Hi,

There are several reasons why this issue happens. To help you resolve this concern, we suggest that you adjust the height of the system tray. Kindly follow the steps below:

• Right-click on the system tray.
• Make sure that the Lock all taskbars
  option is unchecked.
• Try positioning your cursor at the top edge of the system tray until you see a vertical line with arrows at both tips.
  
• Hold the left mouse button down and drag the edge of the system tray upward to expand it.

Windows 10 1709 System Restore problems...


That seems to be an attempt at Option 2 in the tutorial, which requires you to
a. Boot to a command prompt (Did you?)
b. You then seem to be mixing steps 3,4 and 5, thus your command is incorrect.

I suggest Option 1 is easier.

How to recover hidden icon in System tray on Windows 10?
