  1. Does Anyone have Visual Basic Application to get a live reading of CPU temp? Is this possible?

I'm in a locked IT environment, so I can't download or install 3rd party software or libraries. Our IT doesn't have any approved software that would show CPU temp.

So, figured I'd ask here - does anyone have generic VBA code that can return the current CPU temp? Excel 16.0.12730 x32 on Win10 x64

I used a code snippet from https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/see-pc-information-using-simple-excel-vba-script/ to get CPU properties including CPU load, but this doesn't show temperature or at least not with a label I'd recognize or a value that is within a likely temp range

I'm on Win10 x64 Excel x32 and that code snippet calls "Win32_Processor" - It works without error and gives me the CPU info. I also tried "Win64_Processor" but that errors out.

    From https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/win32/cimwin32prov/win32-temperatureprobe:

EDIT: Just tried Win32_TemperatureProbe as well; it seems to list a set of properties 4x I'm assuming 2 CPUs with 2 cores each including tolerance, accuracy, min and max readable - but no actual temp as far as I can tell. Status just says "OK".

CurrentReading / Data type: sint32 / Access type: Read-only. Current implementations of WMI do not populate the CurrentReading property. The CurrentReading property's presence is reserved for future use.

    :)

    INCORRECT CPU FREQUENCY READING

    Hello Muhammad,

CPU usage depends on the applications that are open to your device. To isolate the problem, we suggest that you answer the following questions:

    • Can you include a screenshot of the CPU reading?
    • Have you tried performing a
      clean boot
      to eliminate software conflicts?
    • What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

    Looking forward to your response.

  3. Microsoft Visual Basic for Application

    Hi Geeker13,

Are you experiencing this problem when using Microsoft Visual Basic? Or when running any program unrelated to Visual Basic? In the mean time, try installing the latest Windows updates since an update for the Microsoft Visual Basic might be oferred. Running
the System File Checker and Deployment Image Servicing and Management command-utility tool might also help resolve the issue. To do so, follow the steps below:

    1. Open the Start menu, type cmd, right-click on
      Command Prompt
      and select Run as administrator.
    2. Input the following command-line and press Enter after each line.

      DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth

      DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth

      DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

      sfc /scannow

If you need further assistance, simply post a reply on this thread and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
