Windows 10: Does anyone know what resetting iTunes for Windows does to the settings?

Hello, I have found that Itunes no longer detects my iPhone. I am also trying to troubleshoot this with the apple community forums. Apple support articles say to update windows, drivers, and iOS, but iOS may need backed up. I also already have iTunes updated.Windows detects my phone and one cable is apple brand.I have read through this article: How To Repair And Reset iTunes In Windows 10 intowindows.comSo, I have set iTunes to detect files in a secondary hard drive. I would like to know if anybody is aware what specifically is changed when iTunes is reset and reinstalled through that instru

iTunes won't connect to my iTunes Media directory

1. Uninstall iTunes completely. (I suggest using Geek Uninstaller. In my experience this does a good job of clearing remnants.)
2. Download and install latest iTunes from Apple, not Windows Store (Never use the Windows Store for iTunes.)
3. Check whether the Apple version allows you to point to your old media store.
