    Does archive means only zip files or something else?


    I am a bit confused about one thing, that is in general zip files are know as archive but I came across this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34zmiNectAY and I think she is talking about something else. Please clear my confusion regarding this.

    'Zip' is colloquial in computer-speak for 'compressed,' so a zipped file is a compressed file.

    An archive is a folder that contains compressed files.

    Like Bruce says, there's nothing officially called a 'zip archive' but sometimes people use that term to mean an archive compressed with the zip method, because there are many ways to compress files.

    Likewise, to un-zip is to uncompress.

    Zip Archive file

    Windows 10 provides native capability to open zip files. If you double click on any zip file, Windows 10 will open it. However, if you face problem in opening zip archives, you can also use 7zip app to open it.

    Download 7zip - Download

    It will extract whatever files are there. It will not convert anything to mp3. If it contains mp3, mp3 will be extracted. If it contains another audio file, you can use mp3 converters to convert an audio file into mp3.
