If I use Windows USB/DVD tool or Rufus to burn the Windows 10 ISO to my USB drive, would I be able to use the USB drive anymore, i.e. deleting files and putting other ones?

Re-install windows 10 on older pc

Did you burn the installation files to the USB drive? You can't just download them to the USB drive. You can use Rufus to burn the files to the USB drive.

When burning files to a DVD or CD, choosing the option 'Like a USB flash drive' is compatible with older versions:

If you are referring to actual optical drive, it varies. Would be hard to give you a complete idea of makes and models that support all versions, but any drive sold within the last 10 years should.

Gather you are talking about usb memory stick drives, not laser burning a disc.
Will still work, yes. Just reformat it.

"Burning" is a term that refers to writing data to a CD or DVD since, unless you use a re-writable disk, the disk is burned and can't be used again.

Not so with a USB thumb drive. It's re-writable so you can delete the files on there (or format) and re-use it for whatever you wish.

But mine did. It is now write-protected. How can I fix this?
