  1. Does changing a Laptop's Microsoft Account, also change everything Windows?

I should rephrase the question better.
Just for context, I have a Lenovo Ideapad 5 Laptop, with installed Windows 10 Home 64-Bit Version.
When I first set up the Laptop, I used my phone number, which promptly used my Alt Microsoft Account, because that alt was connected to my Phone Number.

I have been using this Laptop for about 5 months now, and I installed many things like games, files, wallpapers, and just general changes to my Laptop that fit my needs. However, I find it a nuisance in the Long Term, so I want to change my Laptop's Default Microsoft Account to my main one, which I recently created. Does changing my laptop's Microsoft account change anything like Windows 10 Settings or my Downloaded Files?

For extra information, I have 2 Accounts saved on my Laptop. My Alt, ([testineedhelpinmylifepls@gmail.com](mailto:testineedhelpinmylifepls@gmail.com); don't mind the name lol I created it a few years back as a joke) is the administrator account on this Laptop, and is the one I want to change. My other account, is also a alt account but much more used. I have not added my Main account to my laptop yet, but I wish to do so and also make it the Administrator Account.

An Additional Question (assuming my first question was solved), how to I properly control what goes into my Windows 10 Gmail Bar (the side bar in Windows that shows me notifications)? I usually get random mails from Twitter and some random company emails I signed up for. I do not know which Gmail or Microsoft account it is fetching my notifications from, but I don't worry about that. I just want to find a way to delete and update certain companies/websites and whether I get mails from them or not. For example, I get constant useless notifications/mails from a website called MyPointsBonusMail, which I only remember using once, and don't even have a saved account in their website archive. I want to go to wherever settings it is, to stop windows from sending me mails from that website. I can't pause it myself since 1) I do not know where the settings to do so are, and 2) I do not have a registered account in MyPointsBonusMail.

    Thanks in Advance!

  2. Microsoft account name change not working on laptop

    Hi Nathan,

There might be some conflicts on the settings of your PC and your Microsoft account. We would like to ask some questions for clarification:

    • Did you follow the steps provided on this
      article
to change the name of your Microsoft account?
    • Have you tried checking if there available updates for your Windows 10?
    • When you said that "when I log on to my laptop the user account is still showing the old name", are you referring on the sign-in screen name?
    Regards.
