    Does MBR2GPT cause data loss?


    My computer fully supports UEFI and GPT. However, when I was installing Windows 10, I installed it with the combination of MBR+Legacy Fast, Secure Boot Off. My computer officially supports Windows 11. In the PC Health Check application, it was written that Secure Boot could not be opened because Fast Boot, Secure Boot was turned off. As you know, a UEFI BIOS is required for Fast and Secure Boot to be turned on. And, GPT partition style is required for UEFI as well. It's all like a chain. The strange thing is that when I installed Windows 10 2015-2016 I was a stupid and didn't even know the

    MBR2GPT Validate failed

    Sir,

    I appreciate your help but

    It requires pro edition for the function,the conversion is not possible on the free edition.Is there any way to use the system provided
    mbr2gpt tool and I wish to know why the
    validation failed?

    If you can't even run that, and given other issues, and the length of this thread, and if an in-place upgrade repair install won't help, suggest you're looking at a clean install.

    The video explains that the methods used in your suggestion will destroy data and that is why the new utility MBR2GPT is the recommended solution. Since this utility is new with the latest Fall Creators Update, it may need updating. I hope someone has more
    experience with it and can shed some light on why it fails for me.
