Windows 10: Does "Microsoft Flight Simulator is installed" mean it is installed?

Sorry to ask a silly question, but I've had a lot of trouble trying to get MS FS2020 to work on my PC running Windows 10, and Microsoft are refusing to refund my purchase price so I'm still looking for answers.


This is the first time I purchased anything from the Microsoft Store and it is very strange. Having purchased MS FS2020 the Store tells me that it is "owned" and when I go to the product it also says "Microsoft Flight Simulator is installed". That is at the top of a window with the product shown. And there is a button marked "Play". Now I know better than to click on that button because the whole computer hangs up if I click on it.


However if I click on the little three dots to the right of "Play" there is an option "Install on my devices". If I click on this, it says "It looks like you don't have any applicable devices linked to your Microsoft Account. To install, sign in on a device with your Microsoft account". Well actually I am signed in through the browser to my Microsoft Account and I can see my PC is there as the one and only device, and it says "no issues found" which is reassuring.


There seems to be a conflict in the information from the Store. One message says MS FS2020 is installed, but the other message says I don't have any devices onto which it can be installed.


I have looked at the process to reset the Store but it looks rather tedious.


So I was wondering whether MS FS2020 is in fact installed on my PC and I should ignore the message which appears when I click on "Install on my devices"? If that is TRUE then it would mean that the message which appears when I click on "Install on my devices" is not talking about my PC at all but is talking about other devices. If so I would suggest Microsoft, that the message is changed to "other devices" or "you've already installed on this device". If that is FALSE, then I would suggest Microsoft that the message "Microsoft Flight Simulator is installed" should not appear if it is not installed. Also "PLAY" should be changed to "ON NO ACCOUNT CLICK THIS BUTTON BECAUSE YOUR COMPUTER WILL CRASH".

Microsoft Flight Simulator issue after Windows 10 Upgrade

I suggest you to completely uninstall Microsoft Flight Simulator and check.

Refer the steps below to uninstall.

• Press “Windows key + X”, select Control panel.
• Open programs and features.
• In the list of installed programs, select Microsoft Flight Simulator, and then click
  Remove.

Note: If you have earlier versions of Flight Simulator in the list of installed programs, you will have to remove them in addition to Flight Simulator.



Reinstall the Flight Simulator.

1. Download the Microsoft flight simulator xfrom the manufacturer’s website and save it on your local disk.

2. Right click on the setup file of the driver and select “Properties”.

3. Select “Compatibility” Tab.

4. Place a check mark next to “Run this program in Compatibility mode” and select operating system from the drop down list.

5. Let the Microsoft flight simulator xinstall and then check the functionality.

Flight Simulator Install Issue

Hi,

I installed Flight Simulator on my work PC, but it was not fast enough to play the game. I am trying to install it on my Home PC now. I click Install in the Microsoft Store Account, and it downloads and installs, and then I get an alert that it is installed.
However, nothing else happens.

I have tried clicking "Microsoft Flight Simulator" in the Start Menu, but it will not do anything or load. I have also tried Running as Admin. I have uninstalled and reinstalled many times and it will not do anything.

Any suggestions? Thanks.
