Windows 10: Does my mobo support UEFI booting, details below.

I know this is an extremely old board so I can't find details on it nor do I expect it to have UEFI capabilities but I found something that may give me hope.


So based on 'systeminfo' in cmd prompt, the board is an 'Intel Oneonta Falls' board, currently has an American Megatrends Inc. 2.30, 7/18/2012 BIOS on it. Looking into HWiNFO64, it says the BIOS is UEFI capable but what exactly does that mean for me. Does it mean I can reformat my drive as GUID and have it boot perfectly? Looking into the BIOS, there's no secure boot option. Just because my BIOS supports UEFI booting, does it mean my motherboard supports it?


This is mainly because I want to have different Linux distributions installed but Windows 10 takes up 3 partitions so I can't have more than 1 distribution at a time without having to delete something.

but the really hard part is they dont list that as an option when you look at the mb specs.

there used to be a easy way to tell. if the board supported booting from 3tb drives / partitions. Then gigabyte found away with out using uefi *Bang Head :banghead:

then dont, you can install windows on a small ssd/usbdrive so why on a 3TB harddrive?

It is very hard to find information on that board, because it has been discontinued . . .

Boot into BIOS (usually F2 key) on the manufacturers screen . . .

Then look for a Secure Boot option or UEFI/Legacy switch, if you find either, then your mobo supports UEFI . . .
