Windows 10: Does my PC support wireless internet?

Hello, this might be a stupid question but for the longest time we've used wired internet on my desktop computer but because of slow internet speeds recently, we wanted to change to Wi-Fi, except I can't find the wireless adapters that they've asked us about. Are these drivers something that need to be downloaded and installed separately? Is it a separate network card that needs installed into the computer? Please help as I know nothing about it.

Yeah, thats not a solution she is interested in......I've suggested that course of action. Thanks though.

Just to clarify, I feel that there MUST be a step, or series of steps to turn off JUST the wireless notification sound. Thats what Im driving @ here.

 

Wireless connection available but says "No internet, secured"

What if there's no - Wireless lan listed? Everything else is there and I tried your steps but it didn't work. Still have WiFi no internet, secured message.

 

No wireless internet on bootup

Hi. I've found myself with a new problem – almost every morning when I boot up I have no wireless internet. To fix it, I'll disconnect/connect or, if that fails, I'll disable/enable the adapter. Obviously, I don't want to do this procedure every time so I'm wondering if anyone can suggest cause and cure?

My adapter is an Edimax nano USB. I have it set so that the PC CANNOT turn it off to save power and, under Power Options, the PC is set 'High' and the adapter 'Max'.
