  1. Does OneDrive keep-on-device allow me to keep some files on a separate drive

I have all of my documents & photos backed up to OneDrive but only the documents are "kept on my device" because the photos use a lot of space. I would also like to have my photos kept on my device but I'd like them to be held on my separate internal hard drive D drive rather than my C Drive where the rest of my documents and system files are. Is it possible to back up 2 drives to OneDrive? And if so, how do I direct "Keep on My Device" the the appropriate drive? Thank you

    :)

  2. Why won't Cortana search through my OneDrive for a document?

In order to enable the searching of my OneDrive files I had to:

    • Unlink my Onedrive
    • Reset my OneDrive using the Default Location under C:\Users\Kyle Hatton\OneDrive
      • This re-downloaded all of my files to my User folder and now allows them to be searched and shown in the Cortana Search.
It should be noted that I have 3 separate Hard Drives.

    • 250GB SSD for OS
      • This contains the USER Folder that Cortana searches
    • 500GB SSD for Local Files
      • This only shows up under the "My Stuff" option under "This Device"
    • 1 TB HDD for Large Files and Games
      • Same as 500GB SSD
If you want to be able to search local files and OneDrive Files using the Cortana Search, it must be under the USERS folder, usually in your C: Drive. If you have separate Drives for separate purposes then Cortana will not search those unless you click "My
    Stuff".

Recent shortcuts for apps show files on OneDrive instead of local hard drive

I was able to follow the steps and uncheck the "Use Office apps to sync" box but it didn't change Office's behavior. I opened and closed an Excel spreadsheet on my local hard drive. After that, when I right-clicked on the Excel icon pinned to the taskbar, a link to the OneDrive cloud file was in the list of recent files instead of a link to the file on my hard drive.

Do you have any other suggestions?

    Thanks!

  4. Does OneDrive keep-on-device allow me to keep some files on a separate drive

    OneDrive defaults

Hi. My new laptop was set up so that I did not have any files on my c drive at all- everything is in integral to OneDrive which I don't want. I would prefer to back up and archive onto OneDrive as I had on my old laptop which worked fine where I had distinct
hard drive Documents, Pictures etc and separate OneDrive files. I tried unlinking OneDrive as suggested on another chat but ended up with files listed but not accessible which is a problem. Is it possible for me to get back to separate hard drive and OneDrive
    setup? Any help appreciated!
