Select Desktops to Show Open Windows in ALT+TAB in Windows 10

Am I missing something. In 10 Alt+Tab no longer switches between the desktop and open applications. You need to perform an extra step to get to the desktop

Opening / closing files on a specific desktop

Thank you for your reply which sadly appears to be a stock answer rather than a response to the fundamental question.

This is probably my fault for not being precise so let me try to rephrase

    In an environment where

    • The user is running multiple virtual desktops
    • The user opens a file in an application on one desktop A - for instance an excel file
    • The user the moves to another virtual desktop B and opens a second excel file

Question: is the normal behaviour that

    a. The new file will open on the new desktop B or

    b. The new file will open on the same desktop A as the first file

    Thank you.

Does opening a new desktop reduce ram usage from the tabs that are open on the other desktop?

Move Favorites icon to desktop win-10

Your suggestion does not work. It did work on Windows 7.
