Windows 10: Does playing in game mode on windows 10 drain your battery or at least decrease battery...

I have a really nice laptop that has been having battery problems lately, so until I can afford to get a new battery and/or a new, more powerful adapter I was hoping that I could play games on game mode and be able to play longer before my battery gets too low and the computer shuts off.


Some of the games I'm trying to play are VR Chat and Planet Coaster which I'm already running on the lowest settings, but will playing with game mode activated force the computer to use just the charging cable instead, will the battery just drain slower, or will it do nothing at all?

Battery drains while on sleep mode.


even mine has a slow battery drain, using Win 8.1. Even when powered off, not in sleep or hibernate, but off. It still uses the battery to keep the clock going.
Turn off fast start, as suggested, hibernate over sleep as it uses less power, and if you aren't going to use it for several hours, shut it off.

 

Tablet battery drain


I have Dell tablet, and with Windows 8 the battery was fine, after upgrading and doing a clean install of Windows 10,the battery drain has been terrible.

I left my tablet docked to its keyboard (which also supplies extra battery to my tablet) overnight with WiFi off and sleeping. I left it at %65 battery woke up and now it it was at %5.

Anyone know what the problem is? I tried doing in airplane mode and still.

Sleep Mode has never been efficient. In all my years of using laptops, I've always just turned them off and on. Battery drain is normal for sleep mode. Some people have had issues with the laptops not powering off completely and draining the battery, but if that's your issue, there is an easy fix. You turn off Fast Startup and check a setting in Device Management under Intel Management Engine.
