Windows 10: Does Reset this PC give me an option to select UEFI?

My microsoft account was originally created with an old email in the xbox 360 days. I've since added a new email and deleted the old lost email from the account. A side effect of this is that when doing anything other than signing into the main services xbox / microsoft account, I get a wrong password message. I was originally trying to change from legacy to UEFI by accessing the command prompt from hold shift> restart pc > advanced options> command prompt> login. However, It keeps saying my tested and correct password is incorrect. Now I am looking to do a fresh reinstall of win

Unable to reset the pc

Hello,

If you are having that message while trying to reset your computer, We suggest you to create an installation media for Windows 10 using Media
Creation Tool and perform a Reset.

Once the installation media is created, follow the steps below:

• Insert the installation media you created, and then restart your PC.
• On the Install Windows screen, select Repair your computer.
• On the Choose an option screen, select Troubleshoot. From there, you can use Safe Mode. Select
  Advanced Options >Reset This PC>Remove everything.
• After the reset is complete, check for status.

Give us an update on what happens.

 

Guidance regarding resetting BIOS/UEFI settings




Thanks for the reply. I've attached 2 Jpegs depicting the boot options section of the Bios setup utility (I hope they are readable). What bothers me is that there are 3 Windows Boot Manager entries in the selection list and only one of them (the highlighted one in the list) actually boots into Windows. The other two (entries 1 & 4 in the list) just hang the PC after exiting Bios setup. If you look at the 'Delete Boot Option' page, there are 3 'Windows Boot Manager' entries. When I try to override the boot options by choosing the SSD (VK0480GEMQR), the PC hangs after Bios setup exit.

 

No "Reset This PC" option

• Could you please provide more clarity on, “On original hard disk the WinRE recovery partition was last partition. On new hard disk that partition had moved to first position”?
