Windows 10: Does SS on my USB port indicate Super Speed.

Hi,

I have two USB ports on the front of my desktop which has an SS(+trident) logo between the two. From my understanding, this should indicate Super Speed USB3 ports. But neither is the typical blue and the transfer rate when doing a bulk back up copy, reaches a maximum of around 35MB/s. This would only indicate a USB2. (Unfortunately, I can't remember the spec.)

How do I find out which it is, or is there a way to boost the transfer rate?

USB Port Oddities


Ok, let's see it with pictures step-by-step. First right-click on the USB device and select Update driver software:





Then select Browse my computer for driver software (LAST option) :





The select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer (LAST option) :





Then select the standard driver from the list and click next:





Click next/OK as required to complete installation. Repeat the steps for all Intel USB devices. Finally click on each USB root device and press DEL to delete it, reply YES when asked. After deleting all USB root devices restart the computer.
