Windows 10: Does the free upgrade to Windows 11 invalidate your Windows 10 license?

I have a retail version of Windows 10 Pro. If I take advantage of the free Windows 11 upgrade and then at some point want to reinstall Windows 10, will my old Windows 10 license serial number still work or was it basically converted into a Windows 11 license and I can no longer re-install Windows 10.

Hello guys,

I have 1 license of WIndows 8.1 FPP/retail license. I want to upgrade to WIndows 10, but I one thing is unclear to me.
If I upgrade, will WIndows 10 license be retail or it will "turn" into some sort of OEM license?

I ask this because I upgrade my PC, you know, more memory, replace HDD, and I intend to upgrade the MB and CPU to Kaby Lake platform sometime in the future, (and of course sell the replaced hardware)
This thing is not clearly mentioned anywhere.

The interesting question is that: the upgrade takes place before 29 of July. If I upgrade the PC (change the MB), and I transfer the Win 8.1 license to this new PC (cause 8.1 is retail FPP), will I be able to upgrade to Windows 10 for free? Or a upgrade license must be bought?

Im not sure this is so clear yet, what about this:

What happens if I change my motherboard?

This will invalidate the Windows 10 upgrade license because it will no longer have a previous based qualifying license which is required for the free upgrade. You will then have to purchase a full retail Windows 10 license.

It seems to me that you can install the upgrade to windows 10 and it will last as long as your computer lasts. But if you upgrade motherboards and SSD's After the first year, you're screwed and need to buy a new licence.
