  2. Winbdows 10 Mail App Does Not Detect Changes in IMAP Folder Structure

Here is a use case that highlights a bug.

    1. Add Gmail account to Windows 10 mail app.

    2. After sync, note folder structure in mail app mirrors what is on the server.

    3. Create new folder on the server (or in the case of Gmail, category) and move messages around.

    4. Note that after syncing, new folder does not appear in mail app.

    5. Remove account, add account back in, and await sync.

    6. Note new folder shows up.

  3. Windows 10 Intercepting Hotmail Account

Are you using your Hotmail address to login to Windows 10?

If yes, then the Hotmail account will be setup in the Windows 10 Mail app and cannot be removed.

However, the Mail app itself can be removed.

The Mail app will sync emails and folders. It does not download the emails and then remove them from the server.

What may be happening is that the Mail app has the server tied up. I will move this thread to the Mail app forum.

The November 10 Windows 10 update includes some changes to the Mail app.
