Windows 10: Does the Microsoft community actually achieve anything anymore?

I have been following and this community for decades. It seems to have become a place where people ask for help and receive many "replies" which are actually more requests for help with the same issue. Very few get closed off. This may be because Microsoft are not engaged with the "Community" and continually tweak settings and add 'upgrades' that are seen by many as retrograde steps.Microsoft obviously cannot see that continual tinkering with the interface and adding ever more complicated setting options will lose them customers.I have stayed with MS Windows since Windows 3.1. Edge Search Does Not Permit Change of Region


I got these suggestions from the Microsoft Community forum.No. 1 worked for me:

Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community. I am glad to assist you on this.
We have reproduce the issue here and we are able to access non-regional search for google using Microsoft Edge.
I would suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps.
Step 1:
Clear browsing data option of Microsoft Edge and check if you face the issue. To do so perform the steps below.

1. Click on the More actions icon next to the feedback icon present on top right corner of the Project Spartan homepage.
2. Select Settings and click on Choose what to clear.
3. Check the boxes Browsing history, Cookies and saved website data and Cached data and files and click on Clear.

Step 2:
I suggest you to create a new user account and check if the issue occurs.

1. Go to Settings.
2. Choose Accounts and then select Family and other users.
3. Select add someone else on this PC.
4. Enter a user name and hit next.
5. Click on Finish.
6. Sign out from the current Account and Log into the new account.

Step 3:
It could also happen because of network issue. I suggest you to try with different network connection and check if it helps.

 

Sea of Thieves on Windows 10: can't unlock achievements

Normally, achievements will be unlocked once you complete a certain task, mission or challenge on the game. If you recently installed the game on your computer, I suggest that you uninstall the game first, and then reset the Windows Store cache by performing
the following steps:

• Press Windows key + X on your keyboard.
• Click on Command prompt (Admin).
• Type wsreset.exe, and then hit Enter.
• Reinstall the game in question.
• Once done, attempt to unlock the achievement again.

If the achievements still don't unlock, I suggest that you raise this to our
Achievements Support team by taking the survey on this
link. They will help us to double check your account and validate if you completed the requirements to unlock an achievement on the game.

Achievements show in Spanish

Before we proceed, we require more information to assist you better.

• Did you make any changes to the computer?
• Since when you are facing this issue?
• Does the folders on your hard drive are in Spanish language?

I would also like to know which region of your Windows is installed on your computer.
Follow the steps to know the region of the Windows.

• Type Region in search box.
• Click on region.
• Go to location tab.
• Check if the Home location is set as Spanish.

I suggest you to follow the steps provided below and check if it helps.

Method 1:

• Press Windows logo key + X key.
• Select Control Panel.
• Click on Language.
• Click on Advance settings.
• Click on Restore defaults.
• Now restart your computer once and check.

Method 2: Login with Microsoft account.

If you have another Microsoft account, login using that Microsoft account and check if the issue still persist.

If you don’t have another Microsoft account, I suggest you to create new Microsoft account and check.
