Windows 10: Does the name of the workgroup have any specific effect?

Hello,I have some computers in 1 local network. Windows 10 latest versionby default, all machines have the workgroup name is WORKGROUP. All computers can see each other and share files with each other. However, when I wanted to separate 3 computers into 1 separate workgroup, so I named the workgroup on those 3 computers is TESTWG, surprisingly all computers still see each other.So what is the name of the workgroup used for? If you allow renaming but you still see each other after changing the name, is it a feature error?

• How are you trying to change the work group name?

Have you tried as below steps if not I suggest you to follow as below and check if it helps.

• Press “Windows+X”.
• Click on “system”.
• Then under “computer name, domain and workgroup settings” option.
• Click on change “settings” on the right hand side.
• Click on “computer name” tab.
• Under the option “to rename this computer and change its domain or workgroup, click change”
  click on “change option”.
• Under “computer name tab” enter the computer name accordingly and click on
  “ok”.

Windows 10 search for a specific folder name and file name

Carlos: Thanks for your reply. What you suggest is what I have been doing. I search for folders with a specific name and get a list. Then I have to search each folder for a specific file. So it's a two step search and that's what I was trying to avoid.

I assume there are applications out there that allow for an "AND" search in Windows. I'll try that approach.

  Press Windows+ X, select
  System.
  
• 
  Click on Advanced System settings.
  
• 
  Under Computer Name tab click on
  change.
  
• 
  Under “Member Of” change the Workgroup name
  
• 
  Then click on OK, then when prompted
  reboot your device.
