Windows 10: Does the Windows Update Assistant reset my computer?

My windows update has been broken for over a year now 0x800700c1. I have looked around on google and I haven't found something to fix it. I was wondering If I use this to update my win10 computer to the latest win10 version, will it reset my computer? I don't want to reset my computerThanks!

I think there are three steps that remain; the WU troubleshooter, reset WU components, and manual WU reset.

Run the Update Troubleshooter on the computer.

Windows update issues

It works, but I still need to fix it so that way I dont have to plug computers directly to the modem to get windows update to work. It was also blocking me from installing directx.
