Windows 10: does the Xbox One Stereo Headset mic work on Windows

i would like to use my Xbox One Stereo Headset mic on my laptop, the output device as the headphones work fine and i can hear everything perfectly but when i go in input devices there is no mic to be found, so i was wondering if i am able to use the Xbox One Stereo Headset as a input device. i would greatly appreciate help with this question.

Xbox One Stereo Headset mic not working

Hi.

I have an Xbox One Stereo Headset and I am trying to use the mic through the pc.

When I try to use it, the sound that comes out is quiet and muffled. If I increase the db, it doesn't help much.

I have plugged it into my Xbox One controller, and plugged that into the pc. This improves the sound quality drastically, but is still extremely quiet.

I have the latest AMD drivers, and all the Windows 10 updates. It has been like this since I got the headset a few months back.

I have also had a Microsoft technician go though my pc, but he couldn't solve it.

When I speak through the mic, the audio level meter will pick up sounds perfectly, with it easily going about 65% with only normal talking.

Also the headset works perfectly when using it through Xbox Party chat.

Anyone had the same problem and managed to solve it?

Are Xbox One stereo headsets incompatible with Windows 10?

I am on an Acer Aspire laptop (2015) and I received my Xbox One stereo headsets so that I could use them on the Xbox and my laptop. The problem is my computer doesn't recognize my headset even though they recognize my regular in-ear headphones' mic just
fine!
