Windows 10: Does updating my computer to 22H2 using the update assistant when I am on 21H2 reset all my...

My computer is having problems with updates and I can't update my pc at all. I've searched for an update file to manually update windows and this is what I've found. I wish to keep all my files and such but also update windows to the 22H2 version but am unsure if it will delete my files. I am also wondering if ill need to reactivate windows if I do run this update as well. The file I may update with is named "Windows10Upgrade9252.exe"Thanks.

How to get the Windows 10 2022 Update version 22H2 Win Update

If you can't install it from windows update you can try to install it manually, it's the same KB5015684 obtained with windows update.

Do dism and sfc /scannow commands before and/or after installing it.

 

Cumulative updates 21H2 and 22H2 fail to apply on W10 20H1

Unfortunately none of your suggestions helped. The build number did not change, and it's still at version 2004.

How to get the Windows 10 2022 Update version 22H2 Win Update

I wish things are that simple. My error code was 0x80246017, and I don't have KB5020435 installed so it's a dead end. BTW, MS lists like 6 or 7 error codes of the format 0x8024xxxx on the "troubleshooting WU problems", and when you chose next step, it suggests generic steps: run WU troubleshooter, check if your disk has no errors, is your remote disk is accessible, etc. Same as MS community; each similar error has completely different cause and (re)solution.
MS in notorious for this- if it works then OK, if it doesn't then good luck.
