    Does upgrading RAM help?


    I currently have 8GB 2666Hz single channel RAM installed powered by i5 9300H and an SSD with dedicated graphics.Will upgrading to 16GB dual channel help with performance ? I do not game and want fast performance for other tasks such as faster program loading,chrome etc.Windows 11 has made my pc sluggish but I do like the new interface.Will the upgrade give noticeable/worthy performance upgrade over the current?My system is currently utilizing 55% RAM at idle

    Video card or RAM need upgrading?

    Memtest: no errors after 10 hrs.
    I'm going to perform the Primetest, later on. Get back to you on that.
    I'm going to take it step by step, guys. I need to find the problem with this current computer. I might have to upgrade some components, so that it is still runnable. As for the new one, yes....i will build on it later. I need to find something decent 'gaming experience', all suggestions appreciated. THanks.

    That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

    At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.
