Does Win10 support the old Windows FTP Client?

There are two different people using these two programs from their home computers. I'm concluding from responses here it should work and am therefore going to upgrade to 10.

I don't use any client. I use the cmd box and it works fine.

I did use filezilla in the past but in the end decided it was more efficient (for me) just to type ftp commands in direct. I've been doing that since XP days.

You shouldn't worry though - it all works fine and all ftp clients just send the same information out anyway.

I'm venturing to guess that *.ftp files are not associated with an ftp program in Windows 10.

    You mean this?
I don't see an error code or what in particular "does not work." All I see is that it works in other versions of Windows. I'll leave it as there's no point going over the same ground.

One difference I have found is, Windows 10 seems to send an OPTS subcommand before asking for signon credentials. This does not cause any real problem when entering the command manually, but I want to do batch FTP and the server I am connected to does not recognize the OPTS subcommand and I am left at the "user" prompt.

Does Win10 support the old Windows FTP Client?

My goal is to transfer a spreadsheet to the host running the ftp server and use that spreadsheet to update prices in a wholesale distribution application. All I want to expect from the end user is to provide the path to and name of the spreadsheet. My ftp .bat file would have as parameters the name of the spreadsheet and the name of the file to receive it.

Now that I've upgraded to Win10 I know my utilities using Windows FTP work.
