  2. Audio Attenuation

Before this recent update for Windows 10, all my audio was level and no applications were getting some weird audio priority, however now this annoying attenuation problem keeps on happening. This is really annoying because sometimes
I can't hear anything in an application so either I have to turn up the volume or turn off the other applications. How do I turn off this stupid attenuation?

    Audio Attenuation

    Hi Alex,

Based on the information that you've shared, we'd need additional details to determine the cause of your concern.

We'd like to know the following:

    • If you're using an external speaker.
    • If you're using a desktop or a laptop.
    • If the volume slider has been automatically moved when you experience your concern.

Does windows 11 have automatic audio attenuation?

Windows 11 silent notifications still attenuate other sound.

I listen to music using TIDAL while working.

When I get notifications, I don't want TIDAL's sound to be attenuated.

I have gone in sound settings, 'Communications' tab and checked 'Do nothing' for 'When Windows detects communications activity:'
I have set the notifications to not 'Play a sound when a notification arrives' for a number of different notifications such as Slack. However, audio still attenuates when a Slack notification occurs.

Additionally, when I click on the notification/clock area of the system tray and the calendar and notification center pops up, audio attenuates. This also happens for the network/sound area of the system tray.
