    Advanced format 512e 4kn

All disks sold for consumer applications are 512e. The OS "sees" 512-byte sectors but the disk is 4k. The emulation is totally transparent, don´t worry about it. Initialize the disk as GPT.

HGST 4kn support on Windows 10 with Z97 and Asmedia?

Versions of Intel RST before version 9.6 are known to have problems with HDDs with 4K sectors. You should just uninstall Intel Rapid Storage Technology to see if that resolves your problem.
