Windows 10: Does windows defender in windows 11 23h2 update Automatically

HI was wondering if I could ask a question about windows defender in 23h2. I would like to now does Windows defender update it defintions automatically the reason I am asking this is because quite often when I push on the check for updates button in windows update I get the current defintions all the time through windows update. I would just like to now if this is normal.How often do the defintions update through windows update I have a couple of screen shots below to describe what I am talking about.Windows 11 home edition23h2

SEtting up automatic updates for windows defender on windows 8

I have found this on the internet en have set up a task for automatic definitions update for Windows Defender but a window pops up when this starts to run.
Is there a way to set this without any window popping up so that it just runs in the background?

Now I'm using
"C:\Program Files\Windows Defender\MpCmdRun.exe" -SignatureUpdate -MMPC

windows automatic updates

i have some questions about the windows automatic updates in windows xp pro w sp/2. ive got about forty updates they recommend , mostly for security but i only installed two today. after installing them i found them in my add/remove programs in the control panel, if i add all these updates that is a lot of space on my hd almost 1 gig. i thought that updates just updated files and not created new programs. should i innore all these update suggestions from microsoft?

If you have 'Get the latest updates as soon...' switch On in Windows update page then turn that Off and try Check for updates

to see if W.U. find 23H2 as advised in this thread.
