Windows 10: Does Windows for Workstations supports Intel Core I7?

Where does this list come from? I've seen it before, on this forum, and It is still incorrect today. See above for corrections, and see the link for the current list.

No one really knows what reason Microsoft has. People have guessed, but most of the guesses can easily be debunked. In fact, your processor should be capable of running Windows 11 very well indeed, assuming the BIOS and all device drivers are up to date, and assuming you're not running some incompatible, strange applications.

 

"New" 12th generation Intel Core i7-1255U not on "Windows 11 supported Intel processors" list

This seems like to prevents me from install Windows 11 22H2 patch 5017321 on my brand new Acer Aspire 5 Intel Core i7-1255U, that was OEM-preinstalled with Windows 11. After multiple attempt on Windows Update, no suggestion on new update appeared. Tried with "Windows Update Catalogue" but got a message that prevent install (Like: This installer not applicable for your device")

Note: I was able earlier via Windows Update to update earlier pacthes and drivers for this laptop but as mentioned above not the latest one.

Is the reason for my trouble the absent of "my "processor" in Windows 11 supported Intel processors list and will it be presented or newer on that list?

Strange, because "my" processor is has newer generation Intel Core i7 than what is on that list now.

 

Intel® Core™ i7-6700.

Intel® Core™ i7-6700.have this processor and it is on the list as upgradeable to Windows 11, but my computer states it is not supported. Why???????????????
