Windows 10: Does Windows networking do better over WiFi vs Ethernet?

I work from home, and have both a Windows machine and a Linux machine in my toolset, regularly using both. I typically have the Windows PC as my front-end machine with easy access to whatever windows-ish programs I have installed. With Cygwin installed, I SSH into my Linux Ubuntu machine as needed. Until recently my windows PC was a Dell 8300 originally running W7, with the free-upgrade from years ago making it W10. The Linux PC runs Ubuntu 18.04LTS, and is a much more powerful/newer machine. Domain network ethernet not working but wifi does?

Hi FreeBooter, I already came across this article and followed the steps with no results, I came across other articles that suggested the same steps but still nothing has worked? Thanks for the reply.

 

configure two network type wifi public and Ethernet private


Hello,

I have two network adapters in Windows 10 one wifi for connecting to internet and one Ethernet for local network.
I need to configure wifi adapter to public network and Ethernet to private network but i can't.

Inverse it work ( wifi to private and Ethernet to public ) but I don't need that.
(only wifi adapter have option to be discoverable by others pd in Network Settings -> advanced options )


I need to share files by Ethernet AND NOT by wifi.

Any suggestion?

• Does this issue happened on both WiFi and Ethernet connections?
