Windows 10: Does Windows Precision Driver for touchpads support right click and hold

So I got a new laptop and notice straight away that I couldn't hold down the right click gesture using 2 fingers to hold right click it results in a held left click. I went to their support team who stated they could not do anything since the only touchpad driver installed is the windows precision driver and not one made by them. Anyways I was wondering if this is a normal and if so is there a work around. I've tried the bottom right corner for right click which does allow me to hold down right click but it is so tiny it is hard to maneuver around. Btw getting an external mouse is not really a viable option since I like using my laptop on my lap. Thanks!

Precision Touchpad Middle Mouse Hold Drag

Hi Everyone,

I am new to using a Precision Touchpad. I switched over from a touchpad with a Synaptics Driver. I am using a Dell Laptop and the Dell support says this is a Windows Driver issue because they just use the Windows Drivers.

I often use my computer for CAD drafting. This function uses a lot of middle mouse wheel functions to pan around the screen. On my old computer, I could set part of the track pad as a middle mouse click and hold function. It would allow me to click, hold,
and pan around the screen. On my new Precision Touch Pad, I have mapped a three finger tap as a middle mouse click. But, there is no option to "HOLD" the click down. Is there a way to enable this "HOLD" function?

FYI, I am using AutoHotKey to remap my left mouse click as a middle click hold, but it is a clunky solution. Does anyone know a way to enable this "HOLD" function for a three finger tap on the Precision Touchpad?

The Hardware and devices Troubleshooter does not detect anything wrong with any of my hardware.

The manufacturers site (Dell) does not offer drivers for the touchpad as the Microsoft Precision Touchpad drivers are built into Windows. Link to driver downloads page:

Could you please advise of a way to allow the Microsoft drivers to allow middle click with the Precision Touchpad?

2. Have you installed all pending updates?

3. Did you make any changes to your computer prior to this issue?

Please answer these questions to get more clarity on this issue:

I suggest you to check the setting of the precision touchpad.

1. Type setting in search.

2. Select devices and tap on mouse and devices.

3. Check the settings.

You may also update the touchpad drivers from Device manager to check if that helps

  Press “Windows + X” and select Device manger.
  
• 
  Select Display Adapter and expand the driver icon.
  
• 
  Right click on the driver icon and click on Update.
  
• 
  Follow the onscreen instructions to update the driver.
