  1. Does Windows wipe your entire C:/ drive on Factory Reset?

Hello,I've been running into many issues with the Microsoft Store and Xbox App and I cannot seem to fix it, I would like to do a full factory reset but I'm a bit paranoid that I will lose more files than I would like too.I'm aware that Windows will probably wipe my app data, documents, pictures, desktop and so forth but I'm scared it will erase my C:/Games folder for example, what would be really helpful is a full list of everything that is reset when completing a Windows Full Factory Reset not keeping your filesAny sort of help would be greatly appreciated,Thank you.

    :)

    How to Factory Reset Drives?

    Greetings,

I recently was having issues with my PC and decided to factory reset it from a USB drive. When it was finished resetting, I had 3 drives instead of my normal 2, so I deleted the extra one. I then factory reset it once more and when it was done I had Windows
on my 1 TB drive (DDoes Windows wipe your entire C:/ drive on Factory Reset? :) instead of my 100 GB drive (CDoes Windows wipe your entire C:/ drive on Factory Reset? :). My C: drive only has 500 MB available on it now and it says I have 111 GB of unallocated memory. How do I reset my drives back to factory settings? I have tried resetting my PC and it has only reset files
but not the drives. Any suggestions?

    Thank you

  3. Factory reset without wiping the hard drive

Hi Sofi. I'm Greg, 10 years awarded Windows MVP, here to help you.

Sofi, your hard drive will always remain, it's what's on the hard drive that is erased or not. If you choose the deep clean Reset without saving files, it is a cleaner install that wipes everything off the drive. This means you need to have your files backed up in advanced and be prepared to reinstall your personal apps and programs that do not come from the Store app - which will have your Store games and apps ready to install once you sign-in.

The deep clean reset is important because just as the install gets corrupted and slows down, the User account you sign in with can also become corrupted and need replacement. When you choose to save nothing in the Reset, it will have you set up your account again which is a better install.

Here are all ways to Reset WIndows 10 and 11:

After install expedite all Windows Updates including Optional until no more are offered. Then import any drivers from the PC maker's Support Downloads web page for your model that are newer, or branded instead of generic. The most basic thing we need to learn to maintain a PC is how to keep the latest manufacturer's drivers current. Windows drivers are rarely enough.

Report back results for each step so I know what else to suggest.

Feel free to ask back any questions. Based on the results you post back I may have other suggestions if necessary.

Does Windows wipe your entire C:/ drive on Factory Reset?

How to reset whole netsh? (Windows 7)

Was wondering has the commands changed somehow since on Windows XP and on Windows Vista 'NETSH INT RESET ALL' cleaned entire netsh up from top to bottom.

Now on Windows 7 this same command says no go and only way I can see it is by building .cmd/.bat which does something like:

Code: netsh winsock reset all netsh int 6to4 reset all netsh int ipv4 reset all netsh int ipv6 reset all netsh int httpstunnel reset all netsh int isatap reset all netsh int portproxy reset all netsh int tcp reset all netsh int teredo reset all[/quote] now the king of the hill of bugs is this doesn't actually do even it's job even after reboot. values setup to are not reset to defaults. (I know I could add more entire list of entries there is, but looking for clean delete/wipe settings & default everything not to dump entire list of resets.)

So, anyone got a plan B?
