  1. Doesn't have a valid IP configuration

    Hello all.

I've been having the above issue at different times and it is getting a bit irritating to restart the modem(router).

How can I permanently fix it so that my internet can be online 24/7 without me having resetting the box?

And how come it says that I have no IPv4 connection but IPv6 does have a connection?

    /BTA

    :)

  2. Windows 10 Update of 09/22/2016 Disconnected my Network Drives

Diagnosis reports: "Ethernet doesn't have a valid IP configuration." There's no support offered for how to get a "valid IP configuration".

  3. Doesn't have a valid IP configuration

    Guys,

I have a problem with the above.

I'm using Windows 10 for a while and my PC is wired cable directly attached to my router, but for Windows Restart the internet connection will be lost after restart, when apply Trouble Shooting it comes with Your Network doesn't have a valid IP configuration.
However, if choose to shut down and then switch on the PC there is perfect internet connection but doesn't help the update of the Windows.

Problem is Windows always needs restart to complete the update, but after my PC restart the internet connection was lost, then the Windows said We couldn't finish installing update.

    Please help!

It could be that IPv4 DHCP is not enabled on the router.

  6. Well it is enabled and the thing is that when this happens, I can access the internet with my phone through the wifi.

The Autoconfiguration IPv4 Address. . : 169.254.213.190(Preferred) line suggests that the computer is expecting a DHCP address but is not able to receive one. Did you previously set up any hardware mapping in the router? Are you using a proxy server or have the proxy setting enabled on the computer? Ping your local IP address 127.0.0.1 and see if there's an error.

I don't even know what hardware mapping is so I guess it is a simple no.

And pinging the 127.0.0.1 goes through without errors.

But I'll have to remember to test this when the error happens, for the moment it hasn't happened. Not yet.

Maybe disable IPv6 on your router, or on the network adapter in the computer?

    Uncheck the IPv6 option.

  11. Interesting indeed, I have two local area connections enabled and on one of them I have ipv4 on the other I don't.

I don't understand both are connected to the same box, one is a pci adapter the other is the motherboards one.

Maybe one of my ports are not compatible with Windows 10? I mean I highly doubt it.

  12. Oh and another thing, while it happened I couldn't access the setup for the modem/router, I don't know if this means anything just thought I would shout it out.

Doesn't have a valid IP configuration

Most modems have a default login that is standard. Google for your make and model.

Sounds like you need to enable IPv6 on your computer. Then go into the modem/router setup and see if there is an option to disable IPv6 on the modem/router (if you internet provider does not required IPv6). If IPv6 is disabled on the modem/router then it shouldn't matter if IPv6 is enabled or not on the computer.

Hmm, i'm no network guy but try to update the drivers for your preferred Local Area Network. I would go for just using the PCI one as i'm certain that it's faster than the motherboards built-in WiFi.
