    doing repair-install for 19041.1, the warning for keeping all my data

    I'm using this site's tutorial:
    Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade

    which says:
    I have 19041.1, but I also have the Feature Update to 20H2 (KB4562830) installed. The above warning should not pertain to me, right? So I won't have to uninstall that Feature Update, correct?

    :)

  2. Lost data from hard drive, what to do now?

    Well, I'm sorry to hear that it's a WD My Passport that failed on you, @tomhenry ! *Frown doing repair-install for 19041.1, the warning for keeping all my data :(
    I'd recommend you to try using a different USB cable with it and see if that will help your system to detect it without it disconnecting.
    I'd also suggest you to go to Disk Management and see how the drive is listed there. It won't hurt to check up on the health and SMART status of the HDD by running the QUICK and EXTENDED tests from the WD's Data LifeGuard Diagnostics. Here's a link to the available software: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=11ZOpD

    Give these troubleshooting steps a try and keep us posted with the results!

  3. Repair Install Fixes corruption - CU KB5000802 installed !

    @Caledon Ken,
    Ok, followed the steps in the directions you linked but I couldn't see how step 4 in red was done even after I maximized my screen to try to read the screen shot in red for step 4. It just isn't easy to read to see what is being done.
