Windows 10: Doing win 11 reset preserving data and it is showing Status: Downloading - 100% 30 minutes

I started the reset yesterday telling it to download windows. Came back today and it was at the screen asking if I was ready to reset. I said yes and it showed downloading which went quickly, about 15 minutes. Now it’s been sitting showing downloading status as 100% for at least 30 minutes. Is this normal? The drive light is flashing.

Well, I'm sorry to hear that it's a WD My Passport that failed on you, @tomhenry ! *Frown
I'd recommend you to try using a different USB cable with it and see if that will help your system to detect it without it disconnecting.
I'd also suggest you to go to Disk Management and see how the drive is listed there. It won't hurt to check up on the health and SMART status of the HDD by running the QUICK and EXTENDED tests from the WD's Data LifeGuard Diagnostics. Win 11 update stuck on 30%

My laptop running win 11 needed an update so i restarted to update it but its been stuck on 30% for like 15 minutes can soumeone help?
