  1. Dolby Atmos is not working and I need help

    Hi everyone,

I need help with fixing an issue I am having with Dolby Atmos Home Theater. To start off with the specs of my PC are an AMD 3700X 64GB RAM Nvidia RTX 2080 Ti, also I have a Denon AVR-X3400H, and I am running Win 10 20H2.

Ok, so about a month back I wanted to run a game on my tv and use Dolby Atmos Home Theater on my receiver in the past it was working. I will not say it was amazing since the implementation of Dolby Atmos Home Theater in Win 10 is nothing but buggy and a pain MS please put some real time into fixing the issues. It feels like Dolby Atmos is tacked on with low-quality duck tape. Anyway, back to the issue at the time, and now I can enable Dolby Atmos and it shows Dolby Atmos on the receiver but if you play any audio nothing will come through the speakers. the only way to get any sound to play is to open the Dolby Atmos app and play a video and it works in all of its glory. So, it seems that Dolby Atmos will only play Atmos audio format and that's it. In the past, I could enable Dolby Atmos on the PC and if the audio source was not Atmos format I would still get audio from the speakers.

Since the issue started I have done a clean install of Win 10 20H2 with the latest drivers installed and it has not fixed the issue. I did some Google searching and have not seen anyone else with the same issue I may have not put the right question into Google, so I am sorry if I have overlooked someone else that has already asked this question. The only other thing I found was that there is an issue with the Nvidia Audio Drivers and people were recommending that you uninstall the Drivers and let MS drivers resolve the drivers. I have removed the drivers and rebooted my PC and still, I am having the same issue.

    :)
