Domain admin account as built-in admin account

I just upgraded two brand new pc's from Win 7 to Win 10. Computers were already added to the domain in Win 7 and I was logged into the domain administrator account when I did the upgrade to Win 10. Now when I am logged in with the domain administrator account, I can't open Edge. It says "This app can't open. Microsoft Edge can't be opened using the Built-in Administrator account. Sign in with a different account and try again."

How do I get the local "Administrator" account to be the Built-in administrator account?

The list of user accounts are:
admin (local admin account I made in Win 7)
Administrator (I assume local administrator account that is automatically created)
administrator.AESSEINVLTD (domain admin account I am logged in with)
    Default.migrated
    Public.

    :)

    Built-In Admin

    Hey guys,

i know I've seen a few posts regarding this issues but i have yet to see a genuine solution so here goes.

Context: Work Domain, 13 Users, Group Policy management, 1 month into Win 10, No viruses or malware.

Built In Admin can't access Built In Apps as we all know by know, I've been given 3 possible fixes and here are the results.

    1) Make separate account as admin (not Original built in admin used to set up PC)

Admin account used to update all PC's, users logging in have admin access but use existing domain login (so can't be the built in admin)

Doesn't do anything to resolve issue

    2) Turn on User Account Controls

Works until PC is reset at which point UAC is disabled without a message or prompt

    3) Disable Built-In Admin

Have attempted to disable all built in admins via Group Policy to no avail

Next step is to disable built in admin in each individual PC but am weary that even this will bring about more problems

Question: Is this all a Windows 10 Bug? Is a solution in the works?

  3. Surface Pro 4 and Windows 10 account

I am trying to link a domain account without admin rights to a Microsoft account. I even gave the domain user account admin rights and still no go. The option "Add a Microsoft Account" does nothing when I click on it. The Option to Add an account is
grayed out. The problem is that I have discovered that the start button and the search box do not work unless I have a Microsoft account associated with the domain account. I have two accounts on the surface, one is local admin and one is domain admin, that
I was able to link Microsoft accounts to. Now I try to log on with a testuser account from the domain and the search and start do not work and I am unable to link the account to a Microsoft account.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Domain admin account as built-in admin account

The domain admin account will have local admin rights as default. By design this account cannot run Edge. Either create normal user accounts or make the change in Windows 10 for the local admin account to be able to access apps through security policy changes. Not sure of the exact details (you will need to Google) but Windows 10 Pro you can change the local policy directly but Windows 10 Home you cannot and will need an alternate method.
