  1. Domain rejoin problem

In my domain system I have used 16 digit hostname but now it's not showing 16 digit in Active directory due to limitation of 15 digit netbios name so the actual problem is our compliance crowdstrike is not reflecting in the console so I need solution to rename hostname without leaving domain. I have tried to rejoin the domain but still issue is persist.

    :)

  2. Windows 10 Upgrade unable to rejoin Domain

    Hi,

I'm doing an AD upgrade of windows 8.1 Pro to Windows 10 Pro, I removed the PC from the domain , deleted the AD computer object and ran the windows 10 app, then when trying to rejoin the Win 10 PC back to
the Domain I'm getting the following error:

The join operation was not successful this could be because an existing computer account having name "$$$$$$$$" was previously created using a different set of Credentials.....

    Access is denied.

"event Id: The machine @#@@### attempted to join the domain #$#%#$#% but failed. The error code was 1332."

"The machine @#@@### attempted to join the domain but failed. The error code was 5."

Tried multiple domain accounts to rejoin the domain and got the same error, renamed PC and still the same error.

I have used the same domain accounts to add Window 7 PC to domain without a problem.

    Help?

  3. Rejoin the domain

Hi, my name is Jose, a Windows user like you. I'll be glad to help you today.

To rejoin the computer to your domain, is required that the computer must be connected to your network at less using vpn. It is mandatory. You can use PowerShell to add a remote computer to Active Directory but PSRemoting must be enabled on remote computer. The PowerShell command to join a remote computer is:

Add-Computer -ComputerName computername -LocalCredential computername \localadminuser -DomainName mydomain.local -Credential mydomain\administrator -Restart

Please let me know if you need any further assistance.

    Domain rejoin problem

UnattendedJoin error: failed to find the domain data (0x6e)

Thanks for the suggestion! I don't want to add a domain account, as this is a generic unattended install that will be used for all company machines. Do you think it's possible that the computer would join the domain if, instead of using UnattendedJoin in specialize, I used your steps but left out the specific account? The other thing I was thinking was to use a generic account to allow the domain join during the specialize step. I added a machine password in the UnattendedJoin component, and instead of getting the error listed above, I got an authentication error, which makes me think I could probably do a secure join instead of the unsecure join. Thoughts?
