  1. Domain user changes proxy login credential when I run other apps with different user

    Hello dear Microsoft guys.

I am experiencing the odd problem.

Domain users are enforced to get proxy configuration automatically.

So user logs in the PC and starts to surf on the internet. Once helpdesk team tries to troubleshoot any user issue andrun CMD or any program as an administrator, after a while, proxy proceed to surf with the domain helpdesk user.

In order to fix the problem, helpdesk again runs notepad or any program with user`s credential and it comes back normal.

I can not find a solution to this problem.

    I need your thoughts.

    :)

  2. Adding credentials to Windows Proxy Settings

    Hi All,

Our organization has implemented a proxy server which uses credentials to allow internet access to web browsers and apps.

I know that one can configure the proxy settings using Internet Settings > Local LAN Settings > Proxy Server Settings, but there is no place to enter the login credentials. I take it the assumption is that the Proxy is usually configured to accept AD credentials,
but my PC is not on the domain, so I have to find another way to add the relative credentials to access internet.

I have successfully configured other apps to use specific credentials via their proxy settings interface (FireFox allows to add credentials to specific proxy settings), but other apps makes us of the windows configured proxy settings and there are no allowance
    for supplying credentials.

I have even tried running the program as a specific domain user, but as the PC is not on the domain, this option is not successful.

Any suggestions to add specific credentials to windows proxy settings?

    Thx

  3. Adding credentials to Windows Proxy Settings

    Hi All,

So I played around a bit with different settings, proxy management apps and I found a suitable solution that I would like to share with you all (for in case some others have the same issue).

    Setting up the Proxy Settings:

In the Windows 10 menu, I went to settings (WinKey+I) and searched for "Configure Proxy Settings". Select Internet Settings > Local LAN Settings >Proxy Server Settings.

Select the option to make use of a proxy server, and enter the Server Address and Port

Setting up the credentials for the Proxy Server:

In Windows 10 menu, go to Settings (WinKey+I) and search for "Credential Manager". Under Windows Credentials, add a new entry for Windows Credentials. Enter the Proxy Server address (without the port number), your domain user name and the password.

Once these details are active, you should be able to make use of the proxy server under your custom entered user credentials.

Just remember to deactivate the "Use a Proxy Server" setting (first step) when browsing from outside the network where the proxy is required.

    Regards,

    Pieter

Domain user changes proxy login credential when I run other apps with different user

User can't login with correct credentials when domain is unreachable

Hi, I have an issue with Windows 10 version 2004 Enterprise. I've fresh installed win10 ver2004 on the new laptop. Entered it into domain, setup pass, PIN, fingerprint for user, everything worked fine. But when user
went to another city and tried to login laptop the problem appeared "password is incorrect" Pass, PIN and fingerprint doesn't work. The only thing helped in this situation is login by local administrator and connect via VPN to our corporate network, then
he switched to his domain user and password started to work. But when he restarted laptop the problem comes up again. With previous version 1909 wasn't any problems like this. Looks like the problem with credential cash. I googled all info regarding this problem,
    nothing helped. Please help.
