Windows 10: Don't have BitLocker key, can't risk restarting my laptop

Hi all, I was hoping for someone to help steer me in the right direction. A bit of context; my dad passed away in 2020 and he gave me one of his old work laptops, in the 4 years I used it for school and now I use it for my art, I try and make a habit of backing up files but I haven't done it in a while. So today I pick up my laptop and open It and it shows me a screen asking for a bitlocker code which I don't know what this is so I follow the link to my account to find it and.…nothing. I only then find out its asking for the code from my dads old account, which I don't have access to cause I d

I can´t recover my Bitlocker

My computer Dell did an update and at the restart, I couldn't log-in anymore. I tried many times but nothing worked and now, the computer asks for the Bitlocker key, which I don´t have and checking my windows account, my computer is not even shown. I don´t know what to do anymore, the information in that computer is really important. I have the ID and the unit name. Please, if someone know, I´m a student living abroad, someone please help me, I cannot whipe that drive.

Nice, no answers what so ever... still can`t open new notifications, still right-click don`t work on taskbar... and still no answer as to why

I also tryed safe mode, it still didn`t work on it. and Glucofacts Deluxe STILL does not work, so... you say that you don`t know how it started working on win 10 for you?
