The above messaging from Microsoft is grossly misleading. Can someone escalate this to Microsoft? Clearly, there have been regular failed multiple sign-in attempts as shown in the account sign-in page with my account. Eventually, these bots may hit the right combination and they're in. I know, MVPs and others will say use the Authenticator app or other methods. That doesn't reassure MS users unless MS is actively taking steps to block these IP addresses. Similarly, with Outlook Mail there is no way to report spam or phishing exclusively anymore. Rather you can now only unsubscribe and and b

Hello, and thank you for a speedy reply.

My account has not been hacked; I am still able to access and sign in to it. What I want to know is if my account is still safe after this incident. It was an unsuccessful sign-in attempt.

I'm guessing that changing my password again would be helpful, too?

Hello.

A few minutes ago I checked my sign-in history, and I was shocked to learn that there had been an unsuccessful sign-in attempt from somewhere in China. I'm not in China, nor have I ever been.

The incident happened last week, but I've been able to still sign in to my account every day since then.

Since it was an unsuccessful attempt, is my account still safe? Should I change my password to be on the safe side?

I changed my password, and I already have T/2FA set up.

This has happened in the past though, and the couple of times it did, I never had any notifications on my phone for an attempted sign-in. Is that normal? I would have thought that having T/2FA set-up, I would have received an alert in both instances of these
attempted sign-ins.
