  1. Double-clicking on a folder in File Explorer gives an error message.

When I double-click on a folder in File Explorer Windows 10, I get an error message: "This file does not have an app associated with it for performing this action. Please install an app or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Apps Settings page". When I click the "Open" button on the top center of the ribbon, I get the same message. When I right-click on the folder, I see "Explore" on the top of the list, with "Open" beneath it. The Explore command seems to do no good, I have to click on Open to open the folder. Is there any way I can modify this so that wh

Single click or Double click - more productive ?

I use default settings. Double-click is used in Windows Explorer to open folders and files but I open files and folders with hitting Enter button. It's my old habit from MS-DOS and Norton Commander days which I ain't gonna change.

IIRC doors in Doom I and II are opening via double-click lol

Double clicking on the folders won't opne in File Explorer

Original title: File Explorer double click does not work

File Explorer has stopped opening files in the right pane when I double click. The left pane has no problems. I've checked options for setting to open with double click, default programs (which tells me FE has all it's defaults), and run troubleshooter,
which found a problem but it wasn't the right one (it never said what problem it found.) And of course I've restarted a couple of times. No help. I can still open using right click. When I double click I get an error: "This file does not have a program
associated with it...." Apparently FE now thinks the folders are files? Folders don't have extensions, do they?

Double-clicking on a folder in File Explorer gives an error message.

    Single-click or double-click?

As the title says, do you single-click or double-click on your shortcuts to open your apps?

I'm a fan of single-click, the only downside is that often when I click on a message in de list of my mails in Outlook it can open the mail in a window...
Not always but besides that, single-click works best for me.
