Windows 10: Double Screen Single Monitor windows 10 (cant get to window)

Fresh install of win 10 Pro (legal) on an old acer laptop and no drivers for win 10 so installed the OS put in LAN cable and update the OS, when it finally came back to life it would seem to have set itself up as dual monitors, ie; mouse stops when it goes up, right and down but when pushed to the left it moves over to next screen but i only have single laptop screen.

When i right click on desktop i get the option to alter settings etc which i do but the box always come up on the left hand side of the screen which of course i can't see let alone alter any settings.

I have tried to right and left click the icon in the toolbar at the bottom to hopefully move it but that option is not there, this is my first real move into win 10 so unsure where to go from here.

PC with windows 10 only recognising one of the two monitors installed

Hi - much appreciated and the windows key + P was an exciting discovery re single and double screens although was I am unable to get my pc to actually detect more than one monitor - by this stage I reckon I need to buy a 'cheap' desktop pc for the second
monitor and run them as totally separate computers unless someone knows the answer to my query.

4k monitor shows as two monitors - frustrating!

I have a Samsung 4k monitor that takes two HDMI connections to display 4K at 60Hz. Windows detects this as two monitors when it is only one physical monitor. Therefore I get issues when trying to maximize (to half the screen) and snap windows (to a quarter
of the screen). I did raise a question about this earlier, but was told it would be fine with the final release of Windows 10.

Are there any settings that can control whether Windows will work as if it was connected to a single monitor?

This is probably a combination of NVidia driver and Windows at fault, i.e. NVidia is telling Windows that there's two HDMI connections therefore two monitors. But Windows should be able to act as if they were just a single monitor.

you should see the program in task bar, select it with mouse "click it" now hold down SHIFT + WIN KEY then use the arrow keys so pressing right arrow will move program to your side if not try left arrow.
If the program is not being selected when you click it in task bar use ALT + TAB to select it, and then HOLD "SHIFT KEY + WIN KEY" press LEFT or RIGHT to move program to your screen
