Windows 10: Downgrade from 11 to 10 installed Home, not Pro and without asking

My Surface Go had Windows 10 Pro installed. I accidentally allowed Microsoft to install Windows 11 and left it too long to revert to W10. I dislike W11 enough to have gone the long way around and done a clean install of W10. Bit of a journey but successful, only to discover that what has been installed is the Home edition,. not the Pro edition that I hade there previously. I don't have a product key. How do I move back to Pro from Home?

I suggest you do it offline using a Win 10 USB installation drive. It is always good to have one for emergencies.
- Use MCT to create a Win 10 USB installation drive.
- Windows can be installed in two ways: Legacy-MBR or UEFI-GPT
To install as Legacy-MBR you must boot the installation drive as Legacy
To install as UEFI-GPT you must boot the installation drive as UEFI.

As you have a UEFI BIOS, you should install as UEFI-GPT
Detach any other drives from the computer.

During POST, press F12(?) to launch the boot menu. You will see two options for the USB drive. USB UEFI (Name) and USB (Name). Select USB UEFI (Name) to install as UEFI-GPT.
Go to install and delete ALL partitions on the main drive till you have one and only one unallocated space and then proceed.
If you don't want to use MS account, don't enable updates or connect to the internet during installation.
- As you once had Win 11 on your computer, you have acquired a "Digital License". Just skip to enter the license Key during installation. It will activate. If asked, choose Pro version (it probably won't ask)
