  2. Upgrade win7 pro to win10 pro on a pc with uefi win10 home

your VLK is not valid for downgrade rights on home editions

You needed to purchase these devices with a Pro edition in order to use the Pro VLK

when win 10 installs on a device with a BIOS / UEFI embedded Home Product Code / Key

it will always detect this Key and install that SKU

How to downgrade the Windows 10 Pro to Windows 10 Home (upgraded from Windows 7 Home)

It means there is no way for Win 10 Pro downgrade to Win 10 home (upgrade from Win 7 Home) unless I reinstall the win 7 home then upgrade to win 10 home?

If I do the clean install of that PC installed Win 10 Pro upgrade from Win 10 Home (upgraded from Win 7 Home) and skipped the inserting key steps then connect internet, will my PC activate automatically for Win 10 Home or Win 10 Pro?

If Win10 is activated I'd just use it, there's no big difference unless Pro is needed when connected to a company-type Network, just has more features in it. Did the computer originally come with Win7 or Win8.1 and was restored to that before being Upgraded again? The digital activation usually picks up what the computer originally had. If that doesn't apply did you have to pay for the Win10 Pro version? Or in other words what did the shop do for you?

Berton raises the big question. What did the computer have on it before the computer shop installed Windows 10 Pro on it? If the computer never had a Pro or Ultimate version of Windows on it before, then how did they activate Windows 10 Pro?

You can tell how the computer is activated By right clicking on the start icon, select Command Prompt (Admin) from the list, and run the following command in the Admin Command Prompt:

    slmgr /dlv

Post the results here - the result window contains no uniquely identifying information so nothing has to be blanked out. I would post an example of the result window, but I am not a Windows 10 computer at the moment.

About the only way to downgrade from Pro to Home is to do a new clean install of Windows 10 Home. See post #3 to determine how they activated Pro.

Go to Microsoft's Windows 10 page (Windows 10). Download their Media Creation Tool, open it, and setup a USB stick with Windows 10 Home (Or both) and x32 (Or x64 if your computers got a x64 CPU, if you dont know, choose both) and then install it using the USB stick and enter your product key.

Computer had home edition before formatted, Shop installed pro edition with no activation.
I will come back with result of slmgr /dlv later.
    Thanks.

I deleted my initial reply. Windows 10 Pro is not activated. So - that leaves you with needing to do a clean install of Windows 10 Home.

You can use the installed version of Windows 10 Pro to download and create a Windows 10 Home installation USB flash drive or DVD if you don't have one, boot the computer from that, erase the Windows 10 Pro partitions after selecting the custom install option (that would include the EFI system partition, recovery partition, the small Microsoft System Reserved partition, and the OS partition), and then clean install Windows 10 Home to the unallocated space.

I've been repairing computers for a number of years [part-time shop and full-time freelance tech.] and would NEVER presume to install a version of the Operating System that is different from the original without the owners' permission and charging accordingly. Sounds like the shop did it in the interest of expediency but that doesn't make it right. I keep looking at all the CDs/DVDs I've saved over the years when trying to save storage trying to decide what to keep and what to toss out. [Wife's input doesn't help.]

And even if they did not know which version to install and would activate - Windows 10 Home to Pro upgrade is a simple product key change. Downgrading Pro to Home requires a new install. So they should have started with Windows 10 Home.

It looks like they put Win10 Pro from their Volume license which is why there is a rearm count. It may deactivate if the count reaches the license limit Post a screen of your activation from the Action Center/All settings/Updates & security/Activation. Like this one -
