Windows 10: download button is preventing me from checking for updates

for a while now there has been an optional update that no matter how many times i "installed" it, it would always reappear.now however, it says that it is ready to download and showing me the download button. but when i click that button, nothing happens well, the button itself reacts how you would expect it, but that's itbecause of that i am currently unable to check for updates.the name of the optional update is "Android - Net - 3/30/2016 12:00:00 AM - 1.0.0.1"

How can I prevent automatic updates?

Can you confirm you are stuck at 'Step 4...' If so, you should be seeing this...




When the 'Check names' button comes back saying it can't be found it may be down to a spelling mistake. First check that 'Select the object type:' includes 'Group' - if not, click the 'Object types...' button and tick Groups. 'From this location:' should be the name of your PC. Try typing administrators again.

If it still cannot be found, click the 'Advanced...' button. Again, make sure Groups is included in the object types then click the Find Now button. You should get a list of groups from which you can choose Administrators.

To turn off windows updates in windows 7 follow these steps:

Click the start button, in the search box type in 'windows updates', click on 'windows update'
in the search results list, in the left side of the windows update window click 'change settings'
then in the option bar select 'Never check for updates'.

Have you tried updating your device after running the Windows Update Troubleshooter?

Another solution we suggest is to manually reset the Windows Store cache through Command Prompt. Here are the steps:

• Press Windows + R keys to open the run command box.
• Type WSReset, then try launching Store and sign in. Check if the download button shows up.
  

Also, kindly make sure that your device's Date & time settings is appropriate. To do so, kindly perform the following steps:

• Click Start, then Settings.
• Select Time & language.
