Windows 10: Download Folder not responding still in 2024!!!!

So we are in 2024 and this bug is still here.How is this possible that Microsoft is not capable of solving this issue?And why only the download folder?

Downloads folder not responding

Windows 10 Version 22H2 (OS Build 19045.3324) My Downloads folder is not responding, it just has a spinning circle & says "working on it". After a long time, I have to shut it down through Task Manager. I had this problem maybe 6 months ago & fixed it using SFC. This time I ran SFC where it found & repaired corrupted files, but the Downloads folder still didn't respond. So I ran SFC again & it found no integrity violations. What is the next step in fixing the Downloads folder problem? Do I need to run DISM? If so, should I backup my computer before doing this? Please give specific instructions, as I'm not a "computer person". Thanks very much!

 

Download folder not responding

I recently tried to download a video and since then I can't open the Download folder. I want to delete the file which I suspect must be corrupt, but every time I open the Downloads folder, it says "working on it" and the Download folder is "Not responding".
I'd like to delete all the contents of the folder.

Any suggestions?

Thanks. Please also run Crystal Diskinfo as well for completeness. (Does something completely different to chkdsk). Looking at your screenshot are you a. left clicking b. right clicking ? What happens when you paste this into file explorer's address bar %userprofile%/downloads and hit 'Enter' ? Assuming left clicking, and that rt click works ok, you could try: Open File Explorer. ... Right click on Downloads Select Properties. Navigate to the Customize tab. Select "General items" from the "Optimize this folder for:" list. Click Ok. - and see if that helps.
