Windows 10: Download speeds fluctuate between 25 mbps and less than 1.. adapter not working properly....

My laptop was purchased in 2017 W10 downgrade rights with W7 and I have had wifi issues from the start. My adapter is as updated as it can be.. I've uninstalled and reinstalled it.. All network troubleshooting says no issue found.. I've chosen every setting I can to speed up my internet but it has nothing to do with my plan or my router. Speed tests sometimes show a download speed of 25 or 50 Mbps and I have no problem viewing online content or streaming but other times it shows a download speed of 1 Mbps or less! even when it should be 70+. No other device is sharing the network. Wirele

Fluctuating Download/Upload Internet Speed - up to 50% less

Hi there. I'm trying to troubleshoot my friend's internet speed that goes from ~150-375 Mbps download and ~15-37 Mbps upload. She's paying for 400/40 and the internet repairman said the speeds going into the modem are fine. She's directly connected (no wi-fi)
and the normal speeds are around 220 down/25 up.

The network card has the latest driver (tried uninstall/reinstall), and I've tried some other things (listed here: Top 5 Ways to Fix Slow Internet after Windows 10 Update | Driver Talent), but it doesn't seem to make a difference.
If it does, the proper speeds don't last long so it just could be a coincidence. I know there is always fluctuation in speeds, but over 50% sometimes is too much.

Download Speed Under 1 MBPS

Hello, I am currently having an issue with my PCs download speed. I have tried wi fi and ethernet, but all of the following things I have tried have been while connected via ethernet to my router.

My xfinity plan is for 200mbps download speed.

My Iphone 7 gets 189mbps on speedtest

My PC is getting 4-8mbps on speedtest.

When I am downloading on steam my download speed is ranging from 200 kb - 1.1 mb per second.

I tried doing the following: windows key + R cmd ipconfig /release ipconfig /renew

and my download speed peaked at 21 mbps and then gradually went back down to 1.1 mbps over the next 20 seconds or so.

I updated the drivers for my Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller and this also made my download speed on steam peak at 21 mbps and then gradually go back down to 1.1 mbps.

I checked for windows 10 updates in general and there none available.

Let me know if there is anything else I can provide. I don't understand why my download speed is maxing out at 1 MBps.

 

Ethernet speed capped at 100 Mbps

I have a Lenovo Legion T5 28IMB05, and my Ethernet connection is capped at 100 Mbps.

Things I have already tried and didn't work:

• Switch to another cable. Originally, I had a CAT5e and as my speed was capped, I bought a CAT6. It didn't help (though I'm still using it)
  
• Force the driver to use 1000 Mbps full duplex
  
• Try my cable and router with another PC. It works
  
• Try to boot from a live USB running Ubuntu 21.10. It also didn't reach full speed
  

The funny thing is that if a plug a USB Ethernet adapter (TP-link UE330), it reaches gigabit speeds with that cable and router; and then if I reconnect the cable to the Ethernet port on my PC, IT WORKS at gigabit speeds for as long as I have the PC turned on. When I restart, it goes back to 100 Mbps.

As of course, I prefer not to have to depend on a USB dongle to reach full speed on my network, what can I do?
