Windows 10: Downloaded CSV files not showing Windows 11

Downloaded CSV files are not showing in either explorer or when trying to open via excel. The files have downloaded since if I attempt to upload a csv file via a website I can select them fine.Things tried:1. I have reviewed the previous thread on this topic and switched off the pop-up blocker which has not resolved the issue. It only seems to apply to files I have downloaded since I created a CSV file this morning which is visible.2. Selecting a different folder to Downloads to save to such as OneDrive does not fix the issueUsing Edge

If you're sure that the file was actually downloaded, here are two opportunities for you to try:

1- Open your web browser's settings and see where it saves downloaded files.

2- Windows 11 has the ability to search for files on your computer. Search for this:

*.csv

which means 'all files ending in .csv'

 

csv type not in list of file types in Windows 11

I am trying to get a csv file to open in Excel. My version of Windows 11 does not recognize csv and it is not listed as a file type. I can open with the "open with" option, but the "always use this option" is not available on my machine. Can someone help me to get csv files to ALWAYS open in Excel when I click on them? I use 365 desktop and Excel 2016 or whatever the latest version is.
